The Person That Changed Your Life

I’m a relationship fanatic.

It’s kind of weird but I will do anything to meet someone I think is interesting.

Last year I drove 8 hours over night to New York city in a snow storm to get 15 minutes with Seth Godin. I never made it to the meeting because I was stuck in traffic on the bridge to get to New Jersey but that’s not the point. The point is I did everything I possibly could to meet someone because I think he’s such an interesting person.

The biggest jumps in my career and in my personal life never happened because I figured out a hidden secret or because I unlocked a mystery. The biggest jumps happened because I met interesting people that gave me a different perspective on life and on what I was doing. I guess I can say they influenced me to think differently.

There’s a quote that I have up at the entrance of my clubs that say;

“To the world you may just be one person but to one person you may be the world.”

I’m not quite sure who wrote that quote but it makes a lot of sense to me today.

The point is that there’s someone out there that can help you with any problem you may have. They may inspire you to take it to a level you never even imagined or thought possible.

Somethings you know that you know

Somethings you know that you don’t know

Somethings you don’t know you don’t know.
(this is where these people often come in)

My suggestion: Appreciate the gifts of other people and do everything you can to get to know them.

You may be surprised what comes out of it. (even if it’s years later)
