The Simplicity of Eating Healthy

Feb 6, 2008 by Jean-Luc Boissonneault

Try to build your meals around protein, fats and vegetables. These 3 food choices should form the basis of your diet. The exact proportion of these 3 will vary according to the individual.

For thousands of years there have been hunter gathering societies that existed on only protein and fat (like the Inuit) and others that existed mainly on plant foods but there has been no hunter gathering society that has existed on TV dinners.

Your individual metabolism and preferences will determine what combination of protein, fat and vegetables make up your overall diet. But whatever the combination is, the point is your diet should be composed of mostly these 3 food choices.

When purchasing these 3 groups, I have found Farm Boy to be the best place to shop not only for the freshness but also for the selection of produce.
