9 steps to re-introducing carbohydrate foods in a low carbohydrate diet while losing body fat
Dec 3, 2007 by Jean-Luc Boissonneault
So you’ve seen it before, someone loses weight and gains it all back. This happens time and time again and often to the same person. I’ve witnessed three parts to this problem the first one being that the person’s mindset is all wrong. They look at a diet as a 10 week plan and then back to pizza Thursdays.
Second, throughout their low carbohydrate diet they deprived themselves of serotonin producing foods (a hormone that makes you feel good) so you start getting that “I can’t wait to binge feeling” and guess what happens next? (by the way turkey the best source)
Third they don’t know what really is good or bad sources of carbohydrates so they start stuffing their face with cream cheese bagels, orange juice and cereal.
Here is how Johnny Bowden, author of Living the Low Carb Life says to introduce carbs back into the diet, which I think is just fantastic!
1 Berries
2 Other fruits
3 Full fat yogurt with live cultures
4 Nuts
5 Cheese
6 Red Wine (optional)
7 Starches: Sweet potato, Oatmeal
8 Other Grains (optional)
9 Recreational foods (Special events only)
