Diet Pills

by Jean-Luc Boissonneault

Diet pills are being advertised on TV and in magazines all the time as the secret to fat loss yet authorities are saying that they are harmful to your health. This leaves us confused as to whether diet pills are ok for us or not.

First off, you must realize that you can get to where you want without the use of diet pills by following a good nutrition plan and exercise plan, that's a fact. As proof, I have gotten to 5% body fat without taking any diet pills. Second, not all ingredients function the same way, Whereas one diet pill can be an appetite suppressant, another can be a stimulant and another can be a carb blocker. The point is that they can act very differently in the body so we can not generalize them by saying they are all not good.

I have 2 favorite supplements that I use that are primarily meant to increase my overall health but have a side effect of...fat loss.

Here are my 2 favorite:

Coenzyme Q10
Helps to strengthen the heart muscle and energize the cardiovascular system.
Recently, CoQ10 has been found to be beneficial in treating diabetes (by increasing insulin sensitivity), periodontal disease (by fighting off bacteria that cause the disease), weight loss (essential in the burning of fat), and breast cancer.

Fiber
Fiber is key for preventing digestive diseases but fiber will also help satisfy hunger pangs as well as control insulin and blood sugar levels which tend to promote fat storage when they are elevated. I recommend consuming 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Since the average diet contains only 14 grams we could all use more fiber.
