Strength Curve What

by Jean-Luc Boissonneault

Not changing the strength curves of your exercises may cause you to get an overuse injury. What is a strength curve?

Let me explain:

These are the 3 strength curves.
1) 2) 3)

1) Is when the resistance of an exercise goes from hard to easy like for example the bench press.

2) Is when the resistance of the exercise is harder near the middle of the movement like for example the standing bicep curl.

3) Is when the resistance of the exercise goes from easy to hard like for example the leg curl.

Here is an example of a mistake when changing exercises without changing the strength curve.

Workout 1: Standing Barbell Curl
Workout 2: Seated Dumbell Curl
Workout 3: Standing Dumbell Curl

You can change the strength curves by changing exercise but make sure you are changing it's angles. The "Build Your Arms From All Angle" workout shows the different angles used for the biceps and triceps.
